This is the first blogger award that I have received and to have got this after just over one month of blogging is pretty cool! Thank you to Alice over at Books, Bakes and Blogs for the nomination – she posts some great content so after you’ve read this post (if you get that far) then do go and check her blog out.
So before I start, the rules for those that I’ve nominated are as follows:
- If you are nominated, congratulations! You have been awarded the Versatile Blogger Award.
- Thank the person who gave you the award and include a link to their blog.
- Select 15 blogs/bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly.
- Nominate those 15 bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award.
- Finally, tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.
If you’ve read this far you must want to find out a little bit more about me so without further ado, here are 7 averagely interesting things about myself:
1. I have a 2nd Dan Black Belt
I’ve been practicing Shukokai Karate since I was 6 (that’s 15 years, wow, is it okay to feel old at 21?). In that time I’ve managed to get to the grade of 2nd Dan Black Belt, and despite having a few years away from training whilst I was at uni, I’ve got back into it more recently and I’m excited to start working towards my next belt soon.
2. I have got a BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology with Psychotherapy and Counselling
I’ve mentioned this in other parts of my blog but I guess it’s something I’m proud of so thought I’d include it here too. I graduated from The University of Central Lancashire in July 2018, I had the best three years there and actually left uni with more than just a degree as I met my current girlfriend there. If you’re debating whether or not university is for you then I would always say to go, the majority of people have an even better time than they had imagined.
3. I have a puppy called Bailey
This isn’t exactly an interesting fact but it’s about a puppy, and everyone loves puppies. I got Bailey for my 21st birthday, she’s now 7 months old and is a Miniature Cockerpoo. I’ve trained her in the basics such as sit, lie down, stay etc but quite impressively (if I do say so myself) have taught her to jump up and high five. Yes, my puppy high fives.
4. My career aspiration is to be a Forensic Psychologist
This kind of follows on from my previous point, but my dream job (and the one I am working towards) is to become a Forensic Psychologist within the police. I’m going to be starting an MSc in Forensic Psychology next September and after that, I’m pretty much on my way to my goal.
5. I’m going inter-railing next year
Before I start my MSc, me and my girlfriend (Leona) are inter-railing Europe for 5/6 weeks. We’re going to try and cover as many places and see as much as possible, whilst probably trying to eat as much food and drink as much alcohol as possible too (we’re still in that student mindset, clearly). I’m sure I’ll blog a lot about the trip when we do go but if you’ve got any tips in the meantime, feel free to share them below!
6. I’m at Auntie
I was lucky enough to become an Auntie for the first time when I was 14, and ‘m now an Auntie to 4 lovely little ones: Taylor, 6, Saffron, 4, Issac, 3, and Everly – who is now only just over a month old! Being an Auntie is the best part time job, mainly because when they get tired and start misbehaving, you can hand them back…
7. I competed with UCLan Dance Club
I was with the Dance Club at my uni for my full three years and I’ve gotta say, joining a sports team absolutely made my uni experience – I would 100% recommend it. I competed as part of the Advanced Hip Hop team for all three years, as well as being Captain of the Intermediate Hip Hop team for 2 of those years and was also the Social Secretary for the club in my final year (essentially, I got everyone drunk and had a wicked time). I went to 9 competitions over my 3 years, we competed against other universities from all over the country and in that time, the club won around 54 trophies!
Right, for the good part! Here are my nominations, please do check them out and give them some love, I haven’t had my blog for long as I mentioned before but these are the blogs that have stood out to me in the time that I have been on here.
